Group Project Resources: 3. Human-Centred Technology Research Centre – Damith.Herath@canberra.edu.au

The Human-Centred Technology Research Centre endeavours to perform world-class research that puts the human user at the centre of the technology development. Researchers at HCT undertake fundamental and applied research into the nature, creation and use of technology that enables people in all walks of life to take knowledgeable, well-informed and responsible actions. The HCT Research Centre focuses on technology research that assists humans in their life and learning, that supports them in their health and well-being, that enables them to perform and communicate better, that allows them to be more secure, and that empowers them to achieve their goals.

Our core research strengths are along the information processing pipeline from sensors, to data analysis, to modelling, to prediction and classification, leading to knowledge discovery. A particular focus lies on pattern recognition, signal processing, data analytics, computational intelligence and telecommunications, in combination with related areas such as artificial intelligence, computer vision, data mining, human-computer interaction, image processing, speech analysis, machine learning, multimodal fusion, robotics, and wireless sensor networks.
